Statement
Working with amate, acrylic, and resin, I build layered surfaces that house stories of the human experience. My practice connects ancient fiber with modern form as I'm drawn to materials that carry strong historical context. Each piece begins with the organic texture of handmade archival bark paper, then develops through successive applications of paint and resin encasement. I am consistently concerned with light, depth, and texture as the raw materials tussle for attention and am often talking to myself when I am talking to the world. My work exists entirely on the spectrum between infancy and final form as process and journey are the only goals.
